Side Effects:
CV: Tachycardia, hypotension, flushing, ST-T abnormalities, postural hypotension, extrasystoles, palpitations, bradycardia, heart failure, ischemic heart disease, MI angina pectoris. Body as a whole: Headache, sweating, back pain, non-specific chest pain, pyrexia, limb cramp. CNS: Nervousness, anxiety, insomnia, dizziness. GI: N&V, abdominal pain or fullness, constipation, diarrhea. Respiratory: Nasal congestion, dyspnea, upper respiratory disorder. Hematologic: Leukocytosis, bleeding. Miscellaneous: Reaction at injection site, urinary tract infection, oliguria.

Dosage:
Constant IV infusion Hypertensive emergency.

Rate of infusion is individualized according to body weight and to desired speed and extent of effect. See package insert for table of infusion rates. Doses range from 0.025 mcg/kg/min-0.3 mcg/kg/min for a body weight of 40 kg to 0.094 mcg/kg/min-1.13mcg/kg/min for a body weight of 150 kg.
