Diseases and ConditionsBlood Pressure › How To Lower High Blood Pressure and Help Relieve Stress on Your GP

There is a natural link between relaxation and the lowering of blood pressure. It follows that if you think that your blood pressure is higher than it should be, one of the ways in which you can earn to help yourself is by learning the art of relaxation.

It is extremely important to meet the medical profession half way and to do what you can to look after your own health. It is far too easy to just make an appointment to see your GP and simply hand over complete responsibility for your health to him or her. This is not fair upon the already overloaded medical profession, but more importantly, you are not doing the best you can for yourself.

I have been asked many times why I sell hypnosis recordings to help lower blood pressure.People point out that there is already an adequate remedy available to everyone in tablet form. But to me, this misses the point. When your body presents you with a symptom this should be seen as a form of communication between your body and your mind.A physical symptom like that of high blood pressure tells you that your body is overloaded or compromised in some way.The symptom is effectively trying to tell you to take a step back, and revise the ways in which you are doing things.

If there were no tablets, pills or potions available, our only option would be to seek a different way of living; we would look for natural ways in which to reduce stress or tension and so on.But the majority of people in the Western world tend to take the tablet and continue living in the same reckless way, donning blinkers so as not to see the long term consequences.

But the human body does give way in the end.If you keep ignoring symptoms, it will produce more and different diseases, until it becomes increasingly more difficult to ignore the messages which your body is transmitting.Think about it in this way for just a moment; if you had a broken leg and you took morphine or some other pain killer so that you no longer felt the pain, would you still set out for a five mile jog?The answer here is clearly a resounding "no".So why would a person with high blood pressure, just take tablets to lower that pressure, and yet continue living life in exactly the same way as before?Surely an intelligent person would seek to look at the cause and try to find a way in which to relieve that trigger to disease?

More and more people are aware that they have lost the ability to relax. But relaxation is a natural ability and one which can easily be relearned.Hypnosis is particularly useful in the area of mind and body communication. With hypnosis you can learn to relax and thereby benefit from the natural relaxation response, including that of lowering high blood pressure. But this is not all that hypnosis can do to assist you in looking after your health.

Hypnosis provides access to your inner mind, your subconscious mind, and suggestions can be made to assist your body to self heal and to promote well being. For those people who would like to meet the medical profession half way and to take greater responsibility for their own health, hypnosis is undoubtedly a very useful tool to use.
