Civil Services Aptitude Test is the new Horizon for Civil Services Aspirants

   Civil Services preliminary exam got a major makeover with the introduction of CSAT. Earlier pattern was thought to be unfair by many candidates as candidates were given option to choose his/her optional paper and it was practically impossible to keep the same difficulty level for all the optional papers. This is the exact reason why UPSC and the Indian government came up with the CSAT.

   The UPSC CSAT stands for the Civil Services Aptitude Test and will test the aptitude of the applicant in addition to the general awareness. Current pattern mandates that every candidate will have to attempt the same set of questions and hence thought to be fair. The competition is fierce and cut throat which is why it is imperative for the true aspirants to obtain good quality CSAT Study Material.

    Civil Services Aptitude Test 2011 is scheduled for 12th June 2011 (preliminary) and the Main exams are scheduled for October 2011. It should also be noted that you should get your doubts cleared on the content of CSAT 2011 Syllabus by doing a bit of elaborate research on the Web.

   Here are some tips to help you excel in your endeavor. Go through relevant NCERT Books from class viii to xii and always remain up to date by reading a good newspaper daily. Going through good magazines which offer in-depth articles on current affairs will also be an added advantage. It is advised that aspirants should practice CSAT Practice Tests to get good practice before the actual test.

   Prepare at least a year or more in advance as the syllabus is vast both for the CSAT and Mains exams. It is also imperative to work on your communication skills and make certain that you are fully prepared for interview if you passed the written exams.

   Not only you have to excel in the CSAT and the main written examination, but also have to perform well in the interview round as all the marks are combined and your result depends on the performance in each one of them.
