"Caring for an aging family member is a life stage when consumers need a lot of information on important subjects about their loved one's future, such as senior housing, and products and services that can keep their loved one feeling safe, independent, and nurtured," said Andy Cohen, CEO and cofounder of Caring.com. "Evan has a wealth of experience working with established Internet brands developing meaningful commerce and user engagement experiences, and we're planning to harness this experience to take Caring.com's commerce and directory features to the next level."

Liang brings nearly a decade of deep technology experience to Caring.com, with an emphasis on consumer Internet use that includes commerce and consumer engagement. Most recently he was a senior associate at Shasta Ventures, responsible for evaluating investment opportunities and supporting portfolio companies, helping lead the firm's decision to invest in Caring.com. Prior to joining Shasta Ventures, Liang worked in product management at eBay, where he developed new features to improve the buyer experience on the core marketplace platform.

Liang has also worked in business development at Microsoft, where he helped launch the Xbox 360 and served as a strategy consultant to Smart Modular, advising the CEO and board during the company's spinout from Solectron in 2004. He has an MBA from Kellogg School of Management and a B.S. in industrial engineering from Stanford University.

"Evan was a very valuable member of the Shasta team, but his goal was to find an operating role in Web-based commerce, so we are pleased he joined one of our portfolio companies. Caring.com is a perfect fit given Evan's interests and experiences, and he will be a great addition to the team," said Tod Francis, managing director at Shasta and Caring.com board member.

Caring.com is quickly becoming the most trusted source of eldercare information and community on the Web, with more than one million unique monthly visitors, more than 1,400 original articles, and thousands of expert answers from geriatricians, attorneys, financial advisors, geriatric care managers, and other professionals specializing in eldercare.
